How Nirvana Wellness Centre Brampton Helps with - Sports Injuries
Playing Sports, training, and competing can result in various injuries such as muscle strains, ligament sprains, dislocated joints, and extremity (wrist, ankle, knees, etc.) injuries.
Did you know that nearly every professional sports teams from the National hockey league (NHL) to Major league baseball to the National football league (NFL) have a Chiropractor, Physiotherapist and Massage Therapist on their medical staff. This provides care to athletes which results in enhanced sports performance, treatment of injuries, and decrease likelihood of injuries
At Nirvana Wellness Centre Brampton, the goal of our rehabilitation team of practitioners including our Chiropractors is the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of these sports-related injuries. The first objective of treatment aims to reduce pain and promote healing. Generally, treatments for athletes will include a combination of active care (mobility, strengthening, stretching exercises) and passive care which could include mobilizations, adjustments, muscle release techniques etc. Our rehabilitation team includes our Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Registered Massage Therapists, Acupuncturists and Naturopathic Doctors. As part of our unique Gatekeeper Approach, the Chiropractic Doctor will first examine your muscles, joints, nerves, posture and root cause of your concern and match you with the right therapist for you. Just like in sports where monitoring progress is essential, we also conduct frequent progress examinations to track that your condition is improving and we are achieving your health goals.
We are one of the few clinics in the GTA that also offers Neuromechanical Impulse Technique. We find athletes tend to respond well to this instrument-based technique. The Neuromechanical Impulse assists in getting even more mobility into your joints and is complemented with hands-on therapy. Learn more
As the athlete progresses through a treatment plan the objective of care may shift towards returning the athlete back to sport. Care may start to transition into more sports specific exercises and movements to ensure the athlete returns to his/her sport stronger and more adaptable. Our overall goal is to always help you increase function, strength and stability and decrease the reoccurrence of injury.
